Where to stay in Berlin: ackselhaus & blue home Berlin
*In collaboration with: Visit Berlin
On my recent trip to Berlin, I got to stay in one of the most interesting hotels I've yet stayed in. ackselhaus is a 16-room boutique hotel in the heart of Berlin on a quiet area three tram stops away from Alexanderplatz. I was staying at the hotel as a guest of Visit Berlin, but the opinions as always are my own!
My room in ackselhaus
I got to stay in their Beach House room - which turned out to be far beyond my expectations. The room was spacious, had a huge king bed and the nicest bathroom of all hotels I've stayed in. Let the below photos tell the story.
At ackselhaus all the 16 rooms are different with relly fabulous themes, such as Africa, China, Picasso, Safari, Cairo & Movie. What made this hotel even better was all of its attention to detail. I would love to spend a week here trying all the rooms. Room rates vary between 160-250 euros per night.
blue home
The next door of the hotel takes you to blue home with its colourful garden which impressed me right away. blue home is more for a longer stay as the rooms offer kitchen and cooking facilities. It was not as over the top, but was still really stylish and unique. The upstairs Summerhouse took my breath away though! Seriously, I had no idea a room could be this beautiful. Price for the summerhouse varies between 300-360 euros per night - but that could be shared with another couple to have a fabulous summer holiday up on the roofs of Berlin with your own private pool!
Ackselhausin & blue home breakfast
Breakfast is served at blue home. The breakfast was seriously adorable, small and delicious. As all German breakfast, there was a variety of white bread - but also some yoghurt, fresh berries, and cheese. And super delicious coffee.
