Where to stay in Singapore: Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore

*Collaboration with: Hotel Jen Orchardgateway Singapore

Where to stay in Singapore, you ask? Oh Singapore. I love and adore that city to the bone. And for you my darlings across the globe, I've been testing some nice hotels to recommend you places to stay on your next adventure to the fun and games that is Singapore. So, last time I stayed in Hotel Jen Orchardgatewayssä, which is located on Orchard Road. It's a modern four-star hotel, catering for the millennial business traveller. The image of the hotel is based on a fictional character, Jen, who guides you throughout your stay through TV screens and other little notes along the way. It's definitely a groovy hotel with a funky twist.

Arriving to Hotel Jen Orchardgateway

I jumped in to a cab from to airport, which in Singapore happe nto be decently priced. A taxi to the hotel from Changi Airport was about 25-30 SGD. For those on more of a budget, Hotel Jen Orchardgateway is also easy to reach with bus 36, which you'll find from T2 at the airport. Then jump of at Somerset Road Bus Station. The price for the bus is about 2 SGD.

Superior Cityview

I stayed in the Superior Cityview Room, and most definitely liked it. The room was spacious and had everything I could need. The room itself wasn't anything spectacular, but the view of Singapore obviously made up for it. And as I opened the fridge, there was a little bowl of freshly cut fruit waiting for me – yum.

Breakfast at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway

I got to enjoy my breakfast at the Club Lounge, which is normally entitled for those staying in Club -level rooms. The Club Lounge is located on the 19th floor of the hotel, and the breakfast served here is a bit smaller, but delicious. The breakfast downstairs has more variety, like 8 different flavours of ice-cream. You might already guess, that durian ice-cream was my absolutely favourite, though rumor has it they no longer serve it.

Other services

Club Lounge serves snacks and drinks all day, which is perfect for unwinding after a long day of business in the busy city. Lounge@Jen, located on the 10th floor,  is open for all guests. Lounge@Jen serves small snacks and drinks too, and many locals come here to enjoy afterwork. On wednesdays, there is a ladies night!

Makan@Jen is a restaurant, that serves a buffet-style lunch and dinner. There is a lot of variety, but perhaps not as much as you'd like for a vegetarian. The food is of good quality, and there are a lot of yummy things from salad to lobster and a noodle bar.

OnTheGo is a snack bar in the hotel lobby for just grabbing something fast on the go.

BayWatch@Jen is the best place in all the hotel! Rooftop pool, what more do I need in life! For this one, let the photos tell stories. This was the best office yet, especially as it came with fresh coconut.
